John F. Kennedy: Knowledge is Power

JFK“But the educated citizen knows how much more there is to know. He knows that “knowledge is power,” more so today than ever before. He knows that only an educated and informed people will be a free people, that the ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all,”
– John F Kennedy, 1963

Yet today, because of our toxic political environment, educated and informed people are seen as a threat to those that try to govern us.  They don’t want voters that might question their ideology, their commitment to big business, and their continuing diminution of Constitutional rights over the needs of the common people.  That want ignorant sheep that will follow their lead without question.
